📦 ABOUT THE BOOK CLUB
What is the SciManDan Book Club?
A bi-monthly science book subscription curated by SciManDan. Every box contains a hand-picked science book, an A6 notes card with Dan’s thoughts and commentary, exclusive video content, a collectable sticker, and a small themed extra.
When does the first box ship?
March 2026.
Then every two months: March, May, July, September, November.
When does my digital subscription start?
From January, with access to certain online content.
What kind of books will be included?
Books that are scientifically rigorous, engagingly written, evidence-based, and chosen to spark curiosity.
Do you reveal the book before shipping?
No, it’s a curated surprise every cycle.
You’ll know the author and title when your box arrives.
💰 BILLING & PAYMENTS
How does the payment schedule work?
When you join: You pay once immediately.
Then: Your next payment is taken on February 10th.
From March onwards: You’re billed on the 10th of every month.
When is postage charged?
Postage is included as two smaller monthly charges, rather than one large fulfilment-month charge.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel through your Subbly account at any time with no minimum commitment.
If I cancel, do I still get the upcoming box?
If you’ve already been charged for the cycle, you’ll still receive that box.
📬 SHIPPING
Where do you ship?
We ship to the UK, Europe, the US, and most international locations. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.
When do boxes ship?
Every two months:
March → May → July → September → November.
How long will delivery take?
UK deliveries typically arrive within a few days.
International delivery times vary based on destination and carrier.

Does the digital plan include a digital copy of the book?
No. You’ll buy/borrow the book yourself in whatever format you prefer (paperback, Kindle, audiobook, etc.).

Will there be signed copies?
Sometimes, depending on publisher availability.
If signed copies are included, you’ll be notified.

How do I access the private Discord server?
Access unlocks after your February 10th payment. You’ll receive an invite link via email.
Is Discord required?
No, it’s completely optional. But it’s a fun place to chat about the book, ask questions, and join discussion threads.
🔄 ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
How do I update my address/payment details?
Log in to your Subbly account and update your profile.
Please update address changes at least 2 weeks before a shipping month.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes, you can pause directly from your Subbly account dashboard.
What happens if my payment fails?
You’ll receive an automatic email with a link to update your payment details. Your subscription will retry for several days.
📦 MISCELLANEOUS
Can I buy past boxes?
Not initially. If we have leftover stock later, we may offer one-off boxes.
Do you offer gift subscriptions?
Gift options are planned — likely launching in the second half of 2026.
Will there be merch?
Possibly! Stickers, bookmarks, and other extras may appear later depending on demand.
Is this available internationally?
Yes — though shipping costs vary.
